Charity of the month for August

This month’s charity is Kate's Home Nursing and has been nominated by Jo Shaw, Visitor Services Manager at Cotswold Farm Park. “Sadly we lost my father in April 2012 to cancer, and Kate’s enabled us to have him at home for the last two weeks, giving us valuable personal time with him.   Their presence allowed us to be able to sleep at night knowing that he was being cared for both medically and with compassion, during his final days.  Each and every nurse who came to us were kind, considerate and very professional, and we could not have asked for any more from them.  My daughter has since been raising money for Kate’s,...

Birds of Prey Week

Toby Puddle, who has been a practicing falconer for over 18 years, is amazing visitors with his impressive collection of owls, falcons, kestrels and hawks.  After giving everyone a brief introduction to his companions, addressing a few common misconceptions and dazzling us with some astounding figures, Toby gives visitors the chance to see the birds in action.  They really are some beautifully engineered creatures and young and old alike are relishing the opportunity to don the gauntlet and examine them at close quarters.  During his three daily displays, Toby is flying the birds on a creance line.  We know it’s unlikely they will...
