Adam’s top tips for a healthy dog

I have always been passionate about animal welfare and I want the best for all of the animals in my care, including my dogs. Regular visits to the local vet are vital but there’s a lot that we can do ourselves at home to ensure our pets remain happy and well.  Checking your pet for just five minutes, once a month could help you spot potential health problems early on, avoiding discomfort for dogs and potentially hefty vet bills for you. A first glimpse of our new lambs

One way of making sure we are doing all the right things is to scan our ewes. This tends to happen around 80 days into their 5 month gestation period (check out our ‘It’s tupping time’ post to see how we know rough due dates). At this stage the lambs are the perfect size to be picked up by the scanning equipment, which works in the same way as the ultrasound scanners used to see unborn human babies. On the day of scanning, all the sheep are moved closer to the handling pens next to the Farm Park. Membership donations in 2015

Throughout 2015, we are pleased to say that the Farm Park will be donating 50p from the sale of each membership pass to two of our favourite causes. 25p will be donated to the Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST),  a charity very close to our own hearts here at the Farm Park with Adam's father Joe being instrumental in their conception back in 1973. The Trust works to conserve the UK's rare native breeds of farm animals and poultry. 25p will also be donated to the Cotswold Conservation Board as part of their 'Visitor Giving Scheme' which generates funding for conservation projects in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural...

The perfect way to start the year…

We are proud to say that we have won not just one but TWO Cotswolds Tourism Awards for 2015: - Large Visitor Attraction of the Year (Silver) - Holiday Park/Holiday Village of the Year (Silver) for the Cotswold Farm Park Camp Site The awards are judged by several renowned tourism experts and have been running for five years now. A panel spokesman said: "The entries have been difficult to judge because they are all so good and it was a shame that we couldn’t recognise everyone.  The judges had a tough job but we feel we have rewarded our biggest achievers who highlight what is great about our area."
