For Schools and Pre-Schools

Feed Their Imagination.

Established in 1971 the Cotswold Farm Park specialises in conservation and education. Set up by my father, I now have the privilege of following in his footsteps, and keeping up the high quality standards he set, to ensure a healthy environment for all our visitors and animals. I look forward to welcoming you in 2012, as we help young people improve their understanding of key issues such as animal welfare, food production and sustainable farming.

Timetabled Activities:

Touch Barn

Children can interact with our smaller animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks, kids, lambs and piglets), whilst staff explain the hatchery process from egg to chicken, as well as the handling and care of rabbits and guinea pigs.

Seasonal Demonstrations

Pupils can observe different aspects of the farming calendar; engaging their interest by talking to staff with first-hand experience and asking questions.

Quest for the Cotswold Lion Maze

An exciting and challenging maze where children learn at every turn; solving questions to find the correct path and seeking out the Cotswold Lion.

Woodland Adventure

Learn whilst having fun by negotiating the obstacle course and taking part in the Woodland Habitat quiz.

Moley’s Maths Challenge

Visit the animals at the Farm Park and find the eight moles around the walkways, answering each of the math’s challenges. For each mole there are questions to suit a variety of levels.

Farm Safari

An audio commentary on the Tractor and Trailer ride provides information on the Cotswolds, the farm and its animals.

All timetabled activities last approximately 30 minutes.

Additional Activities:

Rare Breeds through History Display

Walkways around the main animal paddocks offer an opportunity to compare and contrast animals close at hand. Pupils can see the changing agricultural scene from the Iron Age through to Modern Day via the collection of livestock breeds.

Wildlife Walk

An opportunity to increase children’s knowledge about the countryside and encourage its sustainability and access on our 3 km (2-mile) SSSI walk around the farm, or our 1-mile alternative “short cut”. Printed leafl ets are available and interpretation boards are displayed around the walk.
