We
are delighted to welcome you to the website for
the Cotswold Farm Park, Britain's first ever farm
park.
Established in 1971, the Farm Park can be aptly
described as a pageant of history on four legs.
Alongside our serious aims of conservation and
education, visitors of all ages will find themselves
easily entertained. On display is an unrivalled
collection of rare breeds of British farm animals
including sheep, cattle, pigs, goats, horses,
poultry and waterfowl.
Step into living history with our outdoor and
indoor animal displays and daily demonstrations.

It is easy enough
to recognise when one is in the Cotswolds: the gentle
swell of the upland laced with drystone walls and
nestling villages of rich, golden limestone. However,
nothing has shaped the Cotswolds more than wool.
In the middle ages “Cotswold Lions”
were bred for their long, lustrous fleeces, creating
immense fortunes and enabling the local merchants
to build splendid manor houses and imposing “wool”
churches. “In
Europe the best wool is English, In
England the best wool is the Cotswolds”
At the Cotswold Farm
Park the “Cotswold Lions” are still
bred today, and no visit to the area would be
complete without meeting the sheep that made the
Cotswolds what you see today. |

The Farm Park is regularly
featured on television, including holiday programmes,
The Really Wild Show and Absolutely Animals. We
have supplied animals for two David Attenborough
Natural History programmes, as well as period dramas
and feature films including Emma, Clandestine Wedding,
Middlemarch, The Hour of the Pig and Braveheart.
We even have our own television celebrity, as Adam
Henson, owner of the Farm Park, is also a presenter
for the BBC Countryfile programme. |
